A lovely and durable cruenta hybrid by Rafael de Faria of Rio de Janeiro (exact parentage unknown). There are two clones of this cross and this one is the red clone. A medium sized open rosette of very stiff, plastic-like, red tipped leaves about 2.5 inches wide and 20 to 24 inches across overall, are dark red with a scattering of yellow-green dots.
A light veneer of transparent gray ‘bloom’ subdues the color of the outer ends of the leaves. Leaf undersides are dull and strongly silver banded. There is no center flush at anthesis.
A great plant for landscape in any light exposure but compact enough to make a desirable potted plant as well.
