A Tropiflora hybrid by Ray Coleman is a cultivar of ('French's cruenta' x concentrica) x 'Bianca'. A concentrica-type hybrid with wide leaves to 4 inches in a symmetrical 30 inch rosette. The leaves are bronzy-green with a heavy glaze of purple-brown blotching in the cup and on leaf bases and ends with strong concentric banding and red tips. The cup blushes red at anthesis, extending out to the ends of the top whorl of leaves. Named in honor of John David Higgs, a Bahamian horticulturist.
