A small growing, clump forming species from central Minas Gerais, Brazil where it lives in rocky areas growing in crevices and stony ground in a very arid region. The plants have fairly narrow leaves varying from green to coppery red and bronzy, sometimes with a dusting of silver trichomes. The marginal spines are fairly prominent but are widely spaced and narrow. The shape is open with straight leaves that taper to a sharp point. The inflorescence is about a foot tall or slightly more with a cluster of green flowers.

*VIPP plants are small
