BEST POTTED
A Cryptanthus species from Potiraguá in the southeastern region of the State of Bahia in Brazil. The plant has many long narrow linear-lanceolate leaves with a sunken midrib 1/2-inch wide forming a loose 16-inch diameter open rosette plant. The leaves are celery green bordered minutely with a deep green color and the entire plant is suffused with rose highlights. With maturity the entire plant suffuses with the rose coloring. The leaf edges are covered with large finely spaced spines the entire length with a light wavey edge. The offsets start appearing from the base before flowering and up toward crown during and after flowering. The clone was originally obtained from Bob Whitman and Warren Loose of Southern Exposure as SE-155.
