Boswellia is the source of the famed Frankincense, aromatic resin that has been a precious commodity since ancient times. This species from the isolated Yemeni island of Socotra in the Indian Ocean is known as the ‘Blue Frankincense’. A pachycaul succulent, small growing tree that is found on cliffs and rocky slopes in the mountains of south and eastern Socotra. Growing condition are very dry and harsh but the Boswellia is well adapted. The thick trunk is covered with peeling bark, typical of many members of the Burseraceae.

Worst plant in 10 years!

I have been ordering plants from Tropiflora and this is by far the worst plant I have ever received from them. I basically received a stem with no leaves and almost no roots. It's clearly a cutting that has not been established enough and I am uncertain if it will make it. It was also shipped potted which probably didn't help as the bark just knocked the plant around in transit. Bare root would have been a better option.
