A handsome, medium sized species from Cape Province in South Africa is unusual in having spineless leaves. The leaves are thick and fleshy, broadly triangular with smooth margins, light bluish-green with an orange band near the margins. The inflorescence is well branched with many heads of dayglow orange-red flowers forming a thick canopy. Full sun and a well draining media are best.
