A stunning form of this species, with a bit of a mysterious origin. This plant has been in cultivation for many years and its exact source or origin is lost in time. It has been credited by some to Nat DeLeon, having been collected by him in Venezuela, but that information is not verifiable. At any rate this just may be the best form of this variable species.
Absolutely stunning with rich chocolate brown leaves banded heavily with silver, rarely reaching 12 inches tall in a tight, tubular rosette flaring at the top. The very stiff leaves bear a deep ‘thumb print’ above the base, typical of the species. Beautiful AND easy to grow.
