This species from eastern Bolivia is another of the larger growing Aechmeas. Found epiphytically in the open and seasonally wet chaco, this species has stiff, upright leaves, heavily spined, and an inflorescence of short, spiny branches and yellow flowers in a cylindrical head. Will adapt to full sun where it takes on its most interesting shape.
