A pretty hybrid by John Arden dating back to the 1970's. 

(xiphioides x capitata 'Rubra')

A natural hybrid of (ehlersiana x streptophylla) from Chiapas, Mexico. There are those that believe that T. ehlersiana is itself a hybrid, so it is not surprising that it would hybridize with other plants sharing the same habitat. This plant looks like an ehlersiana in general aspect, a fat-bottomed beauty with wider, contorted, deeply channeled leaves, silvery all over with a more open, pretty pink inflorescence. 

A hybrid of (albertiana x stricta) by Mark Dimmitt. An interesting and somewhat variable plant with a 6 inch stem covered with dark purple-green, shiny leaves or sometimes silvery gray leaves. The inflorescence is short with red-purple or burgundy flowers. A colorful plant that makes clusters of offsets. Very easy to cultivate mounted or hanging from a string. Yet another in the 'Mystic' series of Mark Dimmitt hybrids. All have a common pollen parent, T. albertiana.  

We received these plants as straight Tillandsia seleriana but quickly realized there was something different about them. After further research we have decided the plant to be Tillandsia 'Selerepton', a hybrid of Tillandsia seleriana x streptophylla. Our plants grow to about 12 inches in height before blooming. 

A nice looking plant with bulbous base and terete leaves that curve gracefully downward. A cultivar of (intermedia x caputmedusae) by noted Tillandsia breeder Mark Dimmitt and named by Paul Isley. 

The foliage is silvery and the inflorescence; multi-branched, bright red with purple flowers, is long lasting a showy. Forms clusters of plants in time and is especially easy to grow.

A Tropiflora hybrid by Ray Lemeiux of Tillandsia concolor 'Cuicatlan' x Tillandsia fasciculata 'Tropiflora' has long stiff tapering green leaves that reach approximately 16 inches from base to tip. The inflorescence is branched with red and green bracts.

A large, stunning cross of botterii x chiapensis, by Steve Correale. Two species of southern Mexico, each a beauty in their own right. A large plant to about 24 inches tall with silvery leaves that taper to fine points forming a graceful vase shaped rosette.

The inflorescence is multi-branched, taller than the foliage, with many short, pink branches. This is the reverse cross of ‘Mixtec Treasure’ and does not much resemble that plant.

A beautiful form of a bright red Mexican T. capitata that has been used by breeder Steve Correale for years to make many outstanding hybrids. There are other red clones of capitata from Mexico, but this one is a little different. A 15 inch rosette of thick, leathery leaves of deep, rich, wine red with an inflorescence the same color, and having great conformation.

At any rate, we have preserved this clone and we feel certain that there will be more hybrids of merit yet to come from pairing with this beautiful plant.

Found near Rio Grande, Bolivia, this form seems to have straighter leaves than the typical duratii. The inflorescence is simple but bears many very large purple flowers. The fragrance is strong and a single specimen can perfume an entire garden. Does not root as an adult, so it must be attached with glue or wires to a mount. Best results may come from suspending the plant from a string or wire and hanging it in a bright airy spot.

Easiest of all the fragrant Tillandsias to cultivate.
