The plant purchased is gorgeous, prettier than their picture. I visited Tropiflora and picked it out but have often purchased from them online and have had the plants shipped. In every case, the plants have been as described, very healthy, and very well packaged.

We are not quite sure that there is an interesting story behind the name of this Chester Skotak hybrid, but I am just as happy to not know what it is. This handsome, robust grower is a cross of a selected dark clone of Aechema fendleri with the fabulously popular Aechmea ‘Blue Tango’. The result is a stunning, variegated plant with red tinted foliage and a spectacular blue and pink inflorescence.
A beautiful red foliaged form of Nudicaulis from the vicinity of Martinhos-Morretes, Parana, Brazil. Compact, upright rosettes of broad leaves that are stiff, blunt and glossy are colored medium green with a red wash and a veneer of dark burgundy in bands and streaks. The leaf undersides have a grayish wash. The inflorescence is bright yellow with flaming red bracts, very showy. Very stoloniferous and thrives mounted. Looks great in a hanging basket too.

An exceptionally fine clone of this colorful form. Tubular with stiff, flaring leaves that are heavily armed with large black spines. Light green base color with black, brown and purple veneer. This plant comes from the collection of the Marie Selby Botanical Garden with the code of (SEL95-0072A).
Accession notes record that it was collected by Luther, Leme, Nahoum, Benzing, Till Krugel in Datas-Diamantina, Minas Gerais in roadside trees, campos rupestris as an epiphyte in February, 1995. A chance to own a truly fine specimen with impeccable records.
