Small for a Puya, it grows to about 20 inches, small enough for most collections. It has narrow silvery leaves; less than a half inch wide, pretty spiny, in a loose but leafy rosette. The inflorescence is a pink spike that soon turns brown, with deep purple-blue flowers with bright orange pollen. Grows well here at sea level in Florida. Puya tuberosa This a an excellent small-growing species from Bolivia. It has narrow silvery leaves, less than a half inch wide, pretty spiny, in a loose but leafy rosette. The inflorescence is a bright pink spike with deep-blue flowers. Very stunning in bloom. This is the first release of this species by Tropiflora. Mature plants, in 5in pots and some mature sized offsets.
