Previously Tillandsia dodsonii. A plant of the mountain forests in Ecuador, ranging from near sea-level to over 5,000 feet. A caulescent plant with narrow green leaves which in nature forms colonies that hang from the uppermost forest branches. The inflorescence can grow to over three feet and produces many two inch, white or creamy-yellow, very fragrant flowers which open several at a time. Seems to grow best potted and kept moist and shady, not at all difficult.
