This Jim Irvin hybrid is a cultivar of Cryptanthus ‘Cloudcover’ x ‘Silver Star’ having 14+ linear-lanceolate leaves forming a medium-large plant 24″ in diameter with an oval shape. The slate-purple leaves, with medium silver scurf extending the entire leaf length and including similar unscurfed bars, have dense silver cross banding mostly across 2/3 of the leaf with a few extending to the leaf margin and extreme leaf edges, with spines that are brick red. The undersides of the leaves are dense with silver scurf.
