Formerly Aloe tidmarshii, recently combined with ciliaris as a sub species. Native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, it is a rambling or semi-climbing species that grows in thick underbrush, using other plants for support. Growing on long woody stems that can reach over 6 feet, it has leaves clustered at the tops of the stems. Flowers are bright red with yellow tips, borne on normally un-branched racemes. Will form many stems and in landscape will eventually form a dense thicket that stays in bloom much of the year.
