An exceptional form of this beautiful species from the collection of Roberto Menescal of Rio de Janeiro, and later propagated and named in his honor by Chester Skotak. A ‘black’ form but with extremely bold cream colored variegation in a broad band up the center of the leaves.
In good light the variegation develops a red coloration that is more noticeable from the undersides of the leaves. The inflorescence is bold with yellow branches and large orange bracts. Currently this is the most beautiful of all chantinii varieties available and the most sought.
