This was one of the first $100 bromeliads we ever bought. Back in the ‘70s when this was new, that was the price for a pup if you could find one. In time the plant became more common and the price came down. Then as with many other plants, it sort of became rare again. A strikingly variegated form of orlandiana, ‘Ensign‘ is boldly candy-striped with pink, white and green. Can be grown potted or mounted. A ‘must have’ for any collection.
