One of Bill Baker’s amazing crosses named posthumously by Chris Nguyen, a cultivar of (Arizona x Brittle Star) x Brittle Star. I suppose the name is appropriate, a heavenly looking plant with hellish spines, but I don’t know if that is what Chris had in mind. The plant is very full with many triangular leaves about 5 or 6 inches long, dark blackish brown with large, triangular, slightly curving white spines. A stunning plant in every way. Mature size is about 12 inches across. Full sun brings out blackish coloration, with less sun it will show more white scurf.

A hybrid from Q-Dyckia. Thick succulent silver grey leaves with a heavy scurf. A tight growing rosette maturing at 12 to 14 inches across.  The leaves are wide, recurving, olive -green, and heavily scurfed with white trichomes and edged with large, retrorse, white spines. A grex mate to Dyckia 'Wasabi'.

Large growing to 16 inches across. Glossy burgundy green with light scurfing. A rosette of broadly triangular leaves that taper to a sharp point. Marginal spines are stout and pronounced. Brows best in bright light to full sun.

Dyckia 'Mercury' is a large growing terrestrial hybrid. A single rosette can mature at 20 inches across. It is a hybrid by Bill Baker. Tropiflora acquired seedlings of Brittle Star f2 from Bill Baker. Mercury is one of seedlings Tropiflora decided to keep and propagate. The leaves are narrow with large, hooked spines and thick silver scurf. Grows best in high light to full sun. Please remember that Dyckia's like to hydrated during the drier months.
