One of the white flowered species of the Wittmackiopsis subgenus of Hohenbergia found mainly in the Greater Antilles. This species is found in Cuba, the Isle of Pines and Jamaica as an epiphyte, a terrestrial and as a saxicole. Frequently found growing on the exposed trunks of palm trees in full sun. It is a moderately large species to about three feet across with broad, stiff leaves of green with fine, serrate marginal spines. The inflorescence is a densely clustered panicle of short branches, mostly green with tiny, flaring white flowers. Our plants came from the Brom-L seed bank: #45.
