A widely distributed species found from Mexico to South America with many variable forms. They can be smallish plants with light greenish-yellow leaves to large growing grayish plants that blush reddish. This form is the light green form and has strappy leaves that curl with age.
The inflorescence is a tall scape with one to several upright branches, mostly yellow with an orange tint in strong light, and long, curling bracts. Prefers bright conditions for best color and form.
