Sometimes called the ‘creeping button fern’, a scandent epiphytic or lithophytic fern with rounded, somewhat succulent, ‘dime sized’ leaves on a creeping rhizome. Green with a coating of golden tomentum and brownish, wooly beneath. Native from Northern India to the Malay Peninsula.

Often seen in clusters covering tree trunks and limbs with closely spaced sometimes clasping leaves. The rounded leaves contrast with the fertile fronds which are more linear in shape and bear rows of spores.

A very drought tolerant plant in nature, it takes well to mounting on bark or a basket with only a thin substrate of moss to hold some moisture.

Considered rare in cultivation. Easy to grow and great in terrariums.
