A choice species found across an area extending from Northern India to Nepal, Buhtan, Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam at altitudes mostly between 3,000 and 5,000 feet. A showy form of the species with large, oblong-lanceolate fronds on stout petioles, spaced about two inches apart on stiff, scaly rhizomes. Grows on moss covered rocks and cliff faces in seasonally dry forests. A good strong grower in Florida and suitable for pot culture, mounting or terrarium use.
