This 2010 Skotak hybrid is a clone of [(carolinae variegated x Hannibal Lector) x Tiger Cub] x punctatissima ‘Rubra’ A miniature with vivid colors. Light green with reddish bars narrowly spaced on the upper and lower sides of the leaf. A broad white stripe up the center of the leaf blushes pink to reddish in strong light. A choice plant for high color and compact size.
Neoregelia 'Toy Tiger'
A really neat little variegated mini Neoregelia. This is a new release for 2016 by Chester Skotak (not yet registered, cross information not yet released). Green colored leaves with yellow-white margins are heavily banded with red with no color change at anthesis. A stand-out compared to other variegated minis due to its bright colors and conformation. Offsets form on long stolons making an attractive cluster.
Neoregelia 'White Hot Embers'
An albomarginated, stoloniferous miniature hybrid from Chester Skotak is a cultivar of [(carolinae variegated x ‘Hannibal Lecter’) x ‘Tiger Cub’] x ‘Punctate Red’, a 2015 release. A marginated sport from ‘Hot Embers’ with dark green leaves that are edged in white and are heavily marked with red bars and spots. With maturity the plants develops a red veneer which causes the plant to look pink where the variegation occurs. A good candidate for hanging pot culture. There is no color change at anthesis
Neoregelia 'Little Rascal'
A new release for 2017 from Chester Skotak, (cross information not yet published). It’s a beefy medium sized mini. The leaves are green with white margins and at 1.25 inches are a bit wider than most of the other new releases. The foliage has tiny red speckles and red bands throughout.
Neoregelia 'Skotak's Code Red'
An exceptionally nice mini Neoregelia is a new release for 2016 by Chester Skotak (not yet registered, cross information not yet released). Its green leaves have broad, central, creamy white variegation. With age the plant develops a veneer of apricot in fair light, to red in good light. The undersides of the leaves are banded heavily with red while the tops of the leaves have broken bands and speckles of red. With its colors, shape and stoloniferous habit, this is one of Chester’s best minis.
