A cliff grower from the state of San Luis Potosí in Central Mexico -- an arid, desert-like area. It is a rather large grower, but if kept in a small pot will stay small, eventually producing a bloom spike with creamy white flowers. As with almost every Hechtia species the plant is dioecious, with either male or female flowers. A collectible Hechtia, being that it is one of the few spineless species in the genus.
