A rare and uniquely different species from the Isalo region of southern Madagascar. The stems are thick, erect and branching in older plants but remains small, about eight inches tall. The stem is covered in large tubercles which are the bases of previous leaves. The flowers are completely unique and difficult to describe, image a globe with a bird cage on top. Best to look at the photo! Grow in a well draining mix, on the dry side and in bright light.
