A Brazilian beauty with short, oblong leaf segments that have crenate margins and prominent veins that terminate in branching between the crenations.  Pendant, it makes a very full, shrubby cluster.  The flowers, borne singly or in pairs, are small but spreading, white to yellowish-green and fruits white.  We have seen this species growing in coastal forests near Cabo Frio north of Rio de Janeiro, but it is also reported to grow in the dunes of seaside restinga.

Note: This plant is on C.I.T.E.S. and can not be exported.

*Some foliage blemishes on older growth

My favorite rhiosalis

Somewhat slow grower but makes a great addition to a collection and a real show-stopper when it gets bigger. It goes outside in the northeast summer, but has to be taken in during the winter months. Only grows during the summer for me. Oval, thick but flat leaves get 6" long or better with width 5" or more. Gets bigger leaves for me than pachyaptera or crispata. Responds to regular watering with new leaves. Mine gets bright light but minimal direct sun. Highly recommended. Mine came from Tropiflora.
