Pachira aquatica 'Malabar Chestnut' This is a flowering tree producing edible nuts, which occurs in Central and Northern South America. The flowers are of the 'shaving brush' type, large and fragrant. The trunk is thick and has interest for the caudiciform enthusiast. Trimming the stem causes the trunk to swell to larger proportions, while keeping the plant at a manageable size. Can be trained as a bonsai.
