A hybrid of Aechmea mariae-reginae x Androlepis skinneri by Sam Smith. A very handsome, wide leaved plant that forms a 36 inch or larger, open rosette with leaves up to 6 inches wide. Color is light green mottled with darker green and will blush red in strong light. A spectacular landscape plant in full sun or lightly shaded areas.

Full sun Dean

Dean is a beast, have this thing in the median strip. Absolute unrelenting full Florida sun 24/7. A little bleached out but not bad. The slightest hint of shade and the colors would come out more.
