THIS PLANT IS ON C.I.T.E.S. AND CANNOT BE EXPORTED

A colorful and interesting epiphytic cactus formerly in the Rhipsalis group, now classified as Kimnachia. Widespread from Mexico through Central America, northern South America and much of the Caribbean as an epiphyte in open forests. The plants have long branches that form a stiff stem in time, allowing the 30 inch branches to form a shrubby appearance, rather than just hanging limp. The stems are flattened, with crenate margins. Areolae are ciliate in young plants only. The plants take on a deep red color in strong light with abundant white flowers, followed by white berries. Our plants are seed grown, lending a fuller appearance.

Kimnachia ramulosa

The late Myron Kimnach was a personal friend of mine. I had the opportunity of making a collecting trip to Mexico with him.
He deserved the honor of having a genus named after him.
