Though listed as ‘cf ', lactea is probably this species. A rarity that came from the region of Río Cunucunuma in vicinity of Cerro Duida in the state of Amazonas in the ‘Gran Sabana’ of Venezuela. Native to moist ground and damp rock walls, it is one of the very few Navias to come into cultivation. A rosette of narrow, deep green, fairly soft leaves with spiny margins, the center flushes pure white at anthesis, suggesting its name; lactea (milky). Extremely rare in cultivation, it needs pure water, open shade, moist conditions and protection from cold temps though cool temps are okay.

Our plant came originally from the collection of the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens with the accession number of SEL2007-0569.
