An endemic species to the Atlantic Forest of Eastern Brazil. Once widespread, it is now losing habitat at an alarming rate due to agricultural interests and urbanization. This species is a small grower with broad, light green leaves bearing large white spots. The inflorescence is a tall scape bearing two light purple flowers on each of several spikes produced. This plant is deciduous in winter unless kept very warm. Grow in well draining media, warm and shaded.
