A collection of three nice different species of Selaginella, suitable for pot culture, shaded rock gardens or terrarium use. Over 700 species of Selaginella are found in tropical and temperate climates around the world. A primitive fern ally, they are commonly called club mosses, though they are not mosses at all. Popular as pot plants, they grow in many forms from very short and procumbent ground covers to vining species. Many are epiphytes and some are quite tall and shrubby. They are typically plants of shaded and sheltered locations. In cultivation that typically want constant moisture but well draining soils, shade and warmth.
