Opuntia engelmannii var. broskowitzii 'Hairy Roger'
We received this cactus unnamed and, not being cactus experts, this is what we consider this variety to be. There are quite a few clones of hairy Opuntias but this variety is spineless and not at all dangerous. It has the typical Opuntia oblong pads but not as wide at the top of each leaf. Pads are covered in pale white hairs that emerge from the areolas. The hair eventually reaches several inches long. We have not yet bloomed this plant but were told the flowers will be magenta.
