Anthurium fornicifolium SEL82-0565 Pastaza, Ecuador

A small-growing epiphytic species from the wet forests of the Eastern slopes of the Andes of Ecuador. A very short stem supports inch wide, arching leaves to about 12 inches long, with long petioles. The deep green leaves have a prominent midvein and slightly quilted, matte surface. The spreading inflorescence has a green spathe becoming reddish-purple and twisted with age. The spadix becomes yellow, with red berries. A nice and somewhat decorative species that is suited for a hanging pot or use in terrariums.
