A jungle-dwelling species with a vase shape, heavy spines and recurving leaves. The small size and very stoloniferous habit makes this plant a good subject for hanging basket culture. Native from Amazonian Ecuador to Peru, it forms very large colonies on the upper trunks and branches of rainforest trees.
Most interesting plant. Now we have two species- H. myrmecophilia already in collection. Arrived in great shape!

NEW TROPIFLORA RELEASE FROM SKOTAK (2023)
A small growing hybrid from Chester Skotak. Light green leaves with wide white variegation. Blushes bright red at anthesis. Grows to 10 inches across and 8 inches tall. Grows best in bright filtered light.
A three inch ball of silvery needles with a bright orange, six inch bloom spike. That about sums up this beautiful Mexican miniature Tillandsia from southwest Mexico. Native to medium altitudes in semi-arid, deciduous forests, this plants loves bright light and breezy conditions. Ageotropic, it can grow in any direction and is often found growing upside down in nature. This species used to be quite common in the trade, but when Mexico closed down to collecting some years back, only captive-bred plants are available and this is not noted to be a fast grower. Easy to cultivate, best mounted.

A fairly newly resurrected species related to compressa and fasciculata, native to the State of Veracruz in Mexico. The type locality is near the town of Hidalgotitlán in the seasonally dry, broad leaf forests of the eastern Isthmus of Tehuantepec. A medium sized plant to about 20 inches tall with narrow, tapering leaves in an upright vase shape. The inflorescence is stunning, uprightly branched and bright yellow. An outstanding plant without any special cultural requirements other than typical for Tillandsias.

This beautiful species is native to only a couple of isolated canyons in central Honduras. A large upright grower to over 30 inches, with stiff, reddish leaves and an inflorescence of long pink, upright, terete branches.
In nature it lives at the base of cliffs, supporting itself against rocks and other plants. In cultivation it can be kept bare root, mounted or may be potted in a well drained media.

This plant has a bit of a history before becoming Tillandsia ‘Kashkin’. Having been collected in Bolivia some years ago by Michael Kashkin, it entered cultivation as simply Species Bolivia. Over the years as it passed from grower to grower, it went by ‘Caulescent jucunda’, ‘Fragrant Flower Bolivia’, and ‘Inca Gold’. Eventually Derek Butcher of Australia did the footwork to determine that the plant is likely a natural hybrid. Of what exactly is not known.
It is a slightly caulescent plant with stiff, narrow, silvery leaves, and a slightly branched inflorescence bearing large, yellow, very fragrant flowers. Easy to grow, it forms nice clusters and likes bright conditions and good air circulation.

Bill Timm’s hybrid of Tillandsia ionantha ‘Druid’ x ionantha v. vanhyningii, looks pretty much like a large vanhyningii. If this plant had turned out with a yellow blush instead of red, more like the ‘Druid’ parent, then this would have been a show stopper. But alas it isn’t yellow, but it is still a very nice, compact and colorful plant as you can see by the photo.

A hybrid by Mark Dimmitt, named and registered by Bill Timm. This clone of (concolor x streptophylla) is one of our favorites! It has a somewhat bulbous base and leaves that recurve downward in a sweeping arc. The leaves are stiffer than streptophylla and more lepidote than concolor. The inflorescence is shaped like concolor, but fuller, lanceolate and branched, pink with silver dusting.
What a beautiful plant and in bloom as well!It was well packed and arrived in perfect condition! I would definitely recommend this seller to anyone!

An especially fine plant from southern Mexico. A sub-mesic Tillandsia with gracefully curving, half-inch-wide, reddish/green leaves in an open rosette. The inflorescence is a spike of crimson, with long, narrow, crimson bracts that curl down along the scape. A truly lovely plant that thrives in pot culture or mounted.
